FAMILY PROMISE
Serves to stabilize persons and families that are in need of home-based support on a temporary basis. Churches of different ideologies throughout the region have opened their doors and hearts to support families regardless of their spiritual standing. Stanton Reformed Church helps out at the Rockaway Reformed Church in Whitehouse Station where there is room for four families. Each family has an individual living room with sufficient beds that are already set up and ready for them…their temporary ‘apartment’. Generally, the families stay one-two weeks. They leave for work and for school from the church each day around 6:30 am. They have their evening meal at the church cafeteria and then retire to their temporary ‘apartment’ for the evening.
